There is a jobs skills training program sponsored by Peninsula Works and Canada College to train people for a career in Accounting and QuickBooks. The program is open to San Mateo County residents who have been laid off. This is a 17 week class that includes course work in Accounting, QuickBooks, Excel, and related English/ESL. The classes will be offered at Canada’s Menlo Park Campus. There is no fee for the course and it is funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act 0f 2009.
There are several eligibility requirements. Applicants must be at least 18 years old,
laid-off or otherwise dislodged from employment, have a legal right to work in the US, be registered for the draft, and residents of San Mateo Co
