Half Moon Bay, California—On Saturday, November 14, 2009, Blue Blanket Improv will present a check for $500 to Coastside high school student Audrey Nassar. The monetary award is part of the Blue Blanket Improv Performing Arts Program, which comprises both a monetary award and a three-month internship with the group.
A senior at Half Moon Bay High School, Nassar is the second young Coastsider to receive the Blue Blanket scholarship, joining “Jumping” Jarred Gibbs, who was the inaugural recipient in 2008. Nassar is free to use the scholarship money to further her interest in the performing arts in any way she chooses, from acting workshops to head shots to college tuition.
Blue Blanket Improv created the scholarship program in 2008 as a way to further its mission of supporting the performing arts on the Coastside. Any current high school student living or attending school on the Coastside is eligible to apply.

Pacifica examines widening part of Hwy 1 to six lanes, Mar 12 4:59pm, Amy Tezza — I think Barbara Kossy’s observation is spot on; this is my daily commute and on non school mornings it’s not a problem but it can take over fifteen minutes to get through Pacifica during rush hour on school days. Consultants' plan for Hwy 1 lacks awareness of our environment and community, Mar 11 4:06pm, Carl May — “Many of your neighbors don’t care. Consultants' plan for Hwy 1 lacks awareness of our environment and community, Mar 11 2:24pm, Kevin Barron — An overpass will NEVER happen here. It reeks of growth, development, and an iota of suburbanization. Many here want to hold tight to no-growth-weed-ridden-squalor. Allow no infrastructure improvements, so any attempts at “progress” is denied for ...
