GGNRA holding open house on management plan today

This is an open house, NOT a meeting.

Come give GGNRA your comments about Rancho Corral de Tierra at Harbor House in Princeton, Wednesday, June 4th (3:30pm - 6:30pm)

The 4,200 acre Rancho Corral de Tierra property located on the Midcoast will transfer from POST to GGNRA possibly as early as this year. GGNRA is gathering community input regarding the Rancho Corral de Tierra property.

Rancho Corral de Tierra is one of the largest areas of open space near San Francisco, the 4,200 acre site is managed by the Peninsula Open Space Trust (POST) encompasses the majority of an 1839 Mexican Land Grant.

Was this announcement made on the Coastsider prior to the day of this meeting? I did not receive the PEPC newsletter mailing that was suppose to go out in mid May.

I got this one yesterday, I think, from a non-GGNRA source. I think missed the announcement, however.

I would appreciate it if somebody who attended this GGNRA meeting please provide the Coastsider board some commentary? I think this is too important of a meeting for the Montara community to be left in the dark. Thank you. Also, I am wondering, now that Prop O passed, how this Measure may or may not tie into the GGNRA plan if at all? Should anybody have some clear insight rather than speculation to provide the Coastsider board, it would be greatly appreciated as well. Thank you.

For those interested in the Rancho Corral de Tierra Land transfer there are scheduled meetings coming up. These are open house meetings that we need to attend. GGNRA is planning on getting this land sometime in 2009-2011 the land is from Montara to El Granada and is currently open space and horse boarding. We need to attend as a community and voice our opinions and concerns regarding the future use of this land. GGNRA is in the beginning phase of this plan and they have a few options that they are looking at. These plans can be found on their website

If you walk your dog, ride your bike, ride, board your horse or just enjoy the land as it is please try to attend one of these meetings. Do not let GGNRA decide on their own what should happen with this land.

Robin, do you have a link with that information and/or any contact information? I couldn’t find it, but maybe I just wasn’t looking in the right place. (Their web site isn’t nearly as easy to navigate as Coastsider’s. ;)
