Shelby’s Jazz Orchestra will perform new music from their “MLK” jazz oratorio, an original composition inspired by the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and music from their recently commissioned piece “Calvin Jones Suite” based on work by Chicago painter and muralist Calvin Jones, as well as compositions by Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn.
