Winter is here, and doesnt’ the idea of stews and braising sound really good? The Family Chef, Amy Fothergill will share some of her favorite winter recipes using good ingredients and great techniques in a cooking class entitled: Everyday Gourmet: Comfort Foods. Recipes include: creamy chicken stew with homemade biscuits, quick and easy Italian cassoulet, and butternut squash risotto with white wine and sage. Gluten-free variations will be included. The cost of the class is $20. It will take place Wed. Dec. 1 from 6 pm to 7:30 pm at New Leaf Community Markets, 150 San Mateo Road, Half Moon Bay. Pre-registration is required.
