Thursday, May 12 from 4 to 6pm.   A hands-on cooking class for kids 4 years and older and parents entitled, “Kids in the Kitchen for Mexican Night! One of the best ways to get your children to eat healthy is to involve them in the process.  Come to this class to learn how to cook some delicious dishes and see how your kids can help as well. The results might surprise you. Led by Well Kiddos and Amy Fothergill, The Family Chef. $6 for child, $12 for parent/adult. Preregistration required.

Saturday, May 14 from 9am to 12pm. Health Screenings by Heart Watch. No appointment necessary. Diabetes ($7 - $32), Cholesterol ($16 - $36) and Bone Density ($32) Screenings. Results in 10 minutes.  West Coast Health Screening Services™ Heart Watch division is a fully insured state and federal CLIA-certified laboratory. They uses the most current mobile analysis devices available to perform tests.

Tuesday, May 17 from 6 to 8pm. Gluten Free & Dairy Free,  a hands-on cooking demo and tasting with Amy Fothergill, The Family Chef. A Gluten-free/Casein-free diet requires some creativity. Let Chef Amy Fothergill show you how to create some delicious dishes that will taste like what you remember. Recipes include: pasta with spinach cream sauce, Focaccia with tomato and kalamata olives, turkey meatloaf with creamy mashed potatoes and mushroom gravy, banana cupcakes (recipe only). $20. Preregistration required.

Wednesday, May 18 from 6:30 to 7:30pm. Healthy Cleansing & Detoxification Lecture by Sarah Rothman, Naturopathic Doctor. Topics: What’s the scoop on detoxifying?, How do you know if you are toxic?, Heavy Metal and Chemical Analysis and Testing Options, Signs and Symptoms of Toxic Burden, Detox Questionnaire, Ways to Reduce your Exposure, Naturopathic Approaches to detoxification, Basic Dietary and Lifestyle tips for Detoxification. Community Day for Puente De La Costa Sur. 5% of sales from the Half Moon Bay store will be donated to this 10-year-old, nonprofit organization who provides safety net services, health and wellness services, youth employment, leadership development, and community engagement for men, women, children, and families living in the rural San Mateo South Coast communities of Pescadero, La Honda, Loma Mar, and San Gregorio. Representatives will on hand to answer questions.
