Tom Ballantyne, Career Management Consultant
Tom Ballantyne has been a career consultant and professional coach for more than eight years. In addition to his private practice, he has been associated with the respected outplacement firm, Torchiana, Mastrov & Sapiro, since 2001. He has facilitated many career workshops and coached hundreds of individuals to greater success in their careers.
He has worked with individuals at all stages of transition, from mid- and late-career executives to professionals in industries such as biopharmaceuticals, high technology, consumer products, retail, financial services and manufacturing. He also has worked extensively with MBAs at San Francisco State University where he served as a faculty member and director of the Graduate Business Career Center for four years.
Before joining the SFSU College of Business faculty in 1997, Tom spent more than 16 years in executive recruiting, 13 as owner of a San Francisco-based, retained search firm. He specialized in the recruitment of senior management for Fortune 1000 companies in a variety of industries – food, wine, financial services, consumer packaged goods, computer technology, digital entertainment and new media.
Before becoming a recruiter, he was an advertising executive with Botsford Ketchum, Cunningham & Walsh and Allen & Dorward, where he managed consumer packaged goods and travel industry accounts.
