Well, she’s been here over a month now. I’ve been checking craigslist, sfgate, and the HMB Review plus local bulletin boards regularly, and the only possible match was a cat from San Carlos that has been missing since January. I emailed that cat’s owner a photo of this cat’s eyes, and she says this is definitely not her cat. Whenever I see a sign on a street corner for a missing cat I check that as well, but I haven’t seen any that look like this kitty.
So I guess we’re keeping her. This past Friday we took her to the vet. She doesn’t have a microchip, and she does have a scar from being spayed. She tested negative for feline leukemia. So we got her her first batch of shots, and she’ll get her boosters and a microchip in a month.
I am sad, because I’m sure somebody is missing her, but I can’t check every newspaper in the US! And we will give her a great home. :-)
