M’kay, so my rose bushes are somehow worse than milkweed… I have hundreds and hundreds of roses out of control. Despite neglecting them the past 2 years.

Have a graduation, anniversary, birthday, for-the-sake of it… coming up soon??? PM, and come on over, and we can harvest a slew of rose petals for your special occasion, your clean-up better than mine. No charge, sans neighborhoody goodwill.

I hope to be in your situation in the next couple of years (i.e., 100 rose bushes), although I’ll be lucky to have 50.  Forgive me for being off topic, but what varieties have you had the best luck with?  So far, hybrid musks have done very well in my garden.

Great question…. I have no clue what variety/species they are. They are a light pink…. and they do have tons of thorns.

Thanks for the reply.  It’s probably the old “It Came With the House” variety, which is very popular.  Actually that’s what got me into roses in general, trying to figure out one that I used to have at our Victorian home in San Francisco.  Good luck in finding a taker for your rose petals.
