Who’s the best vendor out there for good firewood (i.e. almond or of that quality).

Any recommendations?

Hi Katharine,

There’s a local fellow who parks his truck at Strawflower in the fall.  I got some nice seasoned oak from him two years ago—1 cord, delivered to our driveway—$355, as I remember.  His number is 726-2847.  Forgot his name—sorry!

Last fall I procrastinated until November & finally got about 1/5 of a cord of almond from Magnus at firewood farms.  It was still a bit wet—not fully seasoned.  I don’t remember the price.

Now’s a good time to buy.

Al’s Firewood 650-654-9663

Bought from past 4 years; Good wood, almond, but a couple times got too many 4-inch-wide limbs instead of the split trunks that I prefer.

Usually about $350/cord +/-

A second vote for Al’s. Great delivery service and a decent price. And the almond is joy to burn. An added plus is that if you do any woodturning the almond can be used for some very pretty smaller items.
