A few days ago, I was surprised and annoyed to see the San Mateo County Sheriff and some woman smoking up a storm immediately outside the door to Subway Sandwiches in Strawflower Village of Half Moon Bay. I thought smoking within 20 ft of the entrance to a restaurant was illegal? If nothing else, it was sad to see a prominent public official setting such a poor example.

I totally agree with you Brian, nothing like taking a lung full of second hand smoke right before lunch. I’ve even see a Pacifica Sheriff smoking in his patrol car then nonchanetly toss his cigarette butt out of the window, littering, polluting and setting a bad example all in one neat move.
