The Planning Commission has a scheduled meeting tonight - August 9, 2007 7:30 PM

Applicants:  John Bayless and Jim Tjogas for Cabrillo Unified School District.  Location:  Cunha Middle School, APN 056-182-040/050.”

If you will recall, at the Planning Commission meeting held on Thursday, 22 February, 2007, 
CUSD Superintendent John Bayless promised that in June of this year, he would come back for an amended CDP for the missing changes.
The plan back in February lacked the changes for the signature new construction embodied in all the drawings in all CUSD promotion! 
Do they hope we will forget or not notice the difference? 

Will he fulfill his promise - or - will he leave CUSD with yet one more broken promise?

At a personal level, I think the unmet promises that occur in the class rooms are far more important - but more on that later!

At the August 9 Planning Commission Meeting, I asked the CUSD rep (Mr. Wilcox) about the status and future schedule of any additional construction phases for Cunha that might involve the historical structure. He said he didn’t have any information about that.

So, I’m not sure what CUSD’s plans are for Cunha beyond the initial construction phase that was approved back in February. Perhaps they are waiting to see what the initial phase will actually cost before deciding on any future renovations. Renovations involving the historical structure would likely be very expensive.

Looks like it is true that this is the NEW CUNHA signature building!
