Surfrider San Mateo County needs a logo because we’re jealous of the really cool one that the San Francisco Chapter created.  Their logo is of a big wave with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background.  Very nice.

We are calling on everyone with a bit of an artistic bent to design a great logo for the San Mateo County Chapter: something that captures the spirit of San Mateo County’s coastline and the spirit of Surfrider.  We’ll use the logo on our website, plus have it printed on t-shirts, hats, and other gear.

The contest runs until our next General Meeting on December 11th, 7 p.m., Pedro Point Firehouse in Pacifica, when we’ll announce the winner.

Please submit a .jpg or similar picture file by email to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address), or snail-mail a hardcopy to PO Box 2006, El Granada, CA 94018-2006 (but drop us an email so we’ll know you mailed it in). The winner will receive a t-shirt, SMC Chapter’s deepest appreciation, as well as recognition for their talent.

  Guidelines:
  1. Logo must reflect both the setting of San Mateo coastline as well as a Surfrider theme. (Note: However, logo can not use the current Surfrider wave logo.)

  2. Logo must be able to translate from large (8x10) to small (3x3) print sizes (i.e. may print visibly-well on both t-shirts as well as stickers, mugs, or reusable shopping bags.

  3. Logo must be print-ready by using a one- to two-color format.

No need to be a Surfrider member to submit a logo for consideration, but that would be nice.  =)

Alternatives to paid membership are volunteer opportunities that anyone may show up for - check our website often to see upcoming events:  http://www.surfridersmc.org/
