At 6:30 a.m. Friday morning, the Coastside is in for big excitement!  Moms and Pops from the HMB Downtown Business Association, all of whom provide goods and services in the downtown Half Moon Bay business area, will be out to wish YOU a very happy holiday season, and encourage you to shop locally, and help maintain a VITAL downtown.

Bearing signs and slogans, wearing wild hats, dressed to kill (or in their PJs), they have but one message:  Have a wonderful holiday seasion, shop locally, and help us fight the recession.  From downtown to downtown, Main Streets across the United States are feeling the pinch - the fight against recession is bigger than Main Street.

Half Moon Bay merchants won?t take this lying down!  We?re here to stay, we?re great at what we do, we love our customers, we can help you find what you need, we have useful items, and we?re ready to win the fight against recession.

Watch for the ruckus at 92 and Main Street, and get the holiday spirit.  Deck the Halls, Forget the Malls.  Shop locally, and in Half Moon Bay, where you can shop, stroll and dine.

What a blast we had this morning!!!! We dressed in our finest and most fun, and wished our commuters good morning, happy holidays and wonderful days.

28 Local Merchants, one City Council Member and one Chamber member stood in the freezing cold and wind, with posters in hand, to support our local economy. It was a fabulous well of support.

And you drivers supported us, with your honks and waves and happy morning smiles. Thank you.

I see some of the comments above. I hope that you come to Nights of Light tonight (it’s free and sponsored by the Downtown Business Association and the HMB Chamber), and strole through our businesses. There are many useful, and very affordable, things on Main Street Half Moon Bay.

Yes, if I can’t find it first on Main Street HMB, then I’ll check out Pacific Ave. in Santa Cruz, but no mall.  =)
