Food Program Worker
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible to the Executive Director, Coastside Hope for support of the Agency food distribution programs including:
Food Pantry
Family food Harvest
Brown Bag
by:
Maintaining and replenishing food stocks in warehouse, back-stock storage container and food pantry on a continuous and as needed basis
Ordering food from Second Harvest Food Bank to maintain needed levels of stocks
Delivering food collection containers and food to and from Coastside Hope facilities
Transporting food stocks from various collection points within and outside the Coastside community to the pantry, warehouse, back-storage container and any distribution events using Coastside Hope vehicles
Providing direction to and assisting volunteer helpers in:
sorting and storing of donated barrels of food stocks on a periodic basis and shelving sorted food in warehouse
shelving and storage of food stocks transported from the warehouse to the back storage container
unpacking and stacking of individual food items in pantry
distribution food to clients at Brown Bag and Family events.
Providing support to Coastside Hope case workers in the supervision of clients collecting food in the pantry
Maintaining food storage spaces in all locations and transport vehicles in clean and sanitary condition
Breaking down and disposing of cardboard packing materials, unusable food items on a regular basis and any other Coastside Hope equipments or articles on an ?as-assigned? basis.
Any other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Physical strength and ability to:
lift and carry boxes and bags of food stuffs weighing up to 75 lbs.
maneuver and load in Coastside Hope vehicles barrels of food stocks weighing up to 200 lbs.
Valid California driving license and verified good driving record as necessary to be covered by Coastside Hope vehicle insurance carrier.
Ability and willingness to accept direction in accomplishment of all duties
Demonstrated ability to be self motivated and self directed in accomplishment of all duties
Continuing record of safe and sanitary performance of all duties
Ability to interact with supervisor, clients, donors, and volunteers in a friendly cheerful manner
