Come by New Leaf and Meet the Cheese Maker on Thursday, January 20. Jerry Heimerl, owner of Saxon Homestead Creamery will offer samples of his award-winning Wisconsin cheeses: Big Eds (gouda), Pastures (cheddar) Saxony (alpine style) and GreenFields (washed rind from raw cows’ milk). He will talk about his fifth-generation dairy farm, and how he takes special care to make and age his extraordinary artisan cheese from the milk of their own cows.
