Caltrans will blast loose debris from the cliffs early next week

First they said drilling friday, then blasting sunday, now nothing, nothing, and more nothing done after two days of nice weather. The delays have started and we are not a week into it. Caltrans hard(ly) at work again. Now the weather is coming and we'll get nowhere for another week. They are probably going to punish us for pushing the tunnel down their thoats or, more likely, they are just plain incompetant.

There should be some way to reward HS and MS kids that ride their bikes to school. Some kind of contest maybe. Or it would make sense to give PE credits (and civic awards). Start a bicycling class that meets at 730 when the ride is over.

Catrans is going to study this problem for weeks before they start to do any anything. yesterday they moved the drill rigs on to the site but didn't drill. typical. They didn't clean the drainage ditches up there for two years and water has been pouring across the road all winter. There was even grass growing in some of the cracks that enlarged recently (you can see it in the pictures). This slide is at least partially the result of poor maintainence.

This event benefits the senior center in Half Moon Bay and most of the work and it is largely a volunteer event. I suppose you have no tolerance for old people either. They do kind of get in the way with their wheelchairs and walkers!!!!!!
