I could have sworn breakout sections were staggered along that concrete wall, but no - it is indeed solid concrete the entire way! They didn't provide the option of letting you-all turn around at the base of the hill and then go up the westbound lane to get over the hill after waiting that long? =\ Painful.
I would've been right there with you in the line, had we left the house on-time. Little blessings.

SR 84 was lovely to drive eastward through the mist. The brown trunks stark against the brilliant green. No Starbucks in sight. I may return home that way to retain this mellow mood. Lovely - lovely - lovely. Now, what happens when diesel fuel spills on State Route 92? Does it immediately evaporate? Does it run down the road then absorb into the ground, eventually seeping into Pilarcitos Creek? Does an emergency crew mop up all the spill, so no harm done? My 17 year old asked and I couldn't answer…

True, until the next big earthquake comes along. ;)
It's kinda like the 3 Little Pigs against the Big, Bad Wolf, or, in our case, California natural disasters.
Then there are two sides to the use of fire to manage the landscape:

I wonder also, Francis - the Review carried this quote:
"Mullin asked the chair if they could put it over another week," said Sara Ramirez, chief of staff for the assemblyman. "We just needed more time to work the bill."

Did so last week! Hey, on another note, but related: In other comment threads to this topic people have mentioned that this bill is under the radar in the approval process and that if more Californians knew of its existence and status, then they might also get involved so that this type of bill won't present itself in their own backyard. I contacted friends north and south along the coast and each time I was met with their comment of, "Well, AB 1991 will only affect Half Moon Bay, so why should I…

Good! I've been waiting for something to be "official."
Lawns should be banned for starters. Office park landscaping must rip out lawns, residences too.
I'll make a bumper sticker: "I'm for a Lawn-Free California."
Choose California Native Plants - many amazing landscaping options.
Try any of our local nurseries, or make it a day-trip to: http://www.yerbabuenanursery.com/.

Kevin,
Thank you so much for taking the time to post this info. :) This weekend I will make use of all the contact avenues.

So what is it going to take to get into the heads of the "full assembly vote next week," to not pass this bill? And this is not about winning one or losing one, this is about one party taking responsibility for its own consequences - just as I have had to take responsibility for mine in my own life, and you each in yours. What is the next step here, for those of us wanting to say, "Hey! No. City of HMB can eat this one and deal with it." Who has the direction to provide us? And I'm a resident of…

Understood Ken. It's important to give definition to the difference of genuine debate here, versus those who entertain themselves with internet flaming. In case no one clicked on my hyperlinked "troll" above, the definition from the Urban Dictionary: Troll - 1a. Noun One who posts a deliberately provocative message to a newsgroup or message board with the intention of causing maximum disruption and argument." To keep the conversation on topic: “Local Government Committee passes AB1991-next…

It's important to point out the non-sequitur:
"I unfortunately have seen too many projects endlessly appealed to the Coastal Commission which perhaps explains my views. I resent that things get dragged out for years, if not decades."
The truth is that Beachwood has been a City of Half Moon Bay problem that has dragged on for years, not an endless California Coastal Commission appeal.

Quote of the Day: "Which is why we need this legislative relief." *Anne Mudge The belt-and-suspenders phrase was noteworthy too, but this "legislative relief" comment is a two-word summary of: We need a legislative workaround to the laws and conditions that this property, wetlands or not, would be audited against, and was audited against. Separately: Mike F.: hope you didn't incur much pain pulling those daggers out of your back, inflicted upon you by Madam Mayor while you spoke about the price of…

"Gentleman." haha - you're so polite!
Did you see them on this video? They wanted to find a beach where they could be left alone to "build a bonfire," and the guy says that he doesn't regret anything. I don't think all the folks who lined up in Pacifica, waiting for the southbound route to open feel that way... =\ Nor everyone backed up on 92.
Whatever. I'm just complaining. Onward! =]

know of no, was my intention. ah well...no edit button...

I heard it was two people who'd climbed down the cliff to a "beach?" This what was reported on NPR traffic. Turns out, once down "there," and I know of know shoreline down there, they couldn't get back up, so needed to be rescued? Eh?
For the love of Pete.
Anyway, 84 was lovely, and I went from steamed to mellow, albeit in an hour.

AB 1991 is not as cute, nor sings so adorable, as the Bill in the clip. =]
Watching that brought back sweet memories of Saturday mornings watching cartoons. You gonna find a way to post "Conjunction Junction?"
