Pacifica examines widening part of Hwy 1 to six lanes

I wonder how much of the traffic is due to parents taking kids to school, and picking them up from school. I notice when school is out, it's a faster drive through Pacifica. Maybe it would be more effective to re-instate the use of school busses.

We need a way to cross Highway 1 safely in Moss Beach and Montara

Right now the speed limit is 50 mph in Moss Beach. Hwy. 1 in Montara has a speed limit of 45 mph. Perhaps a start would be to get the speed limit in MB to 45, and then enforce it.

Peace breaks out at Pillar Point

Pampas grass is a beautiful plant, but a nasty weed here on the Coastside. Here's more information from the California Invasive Plant Councis: http://tinyurl.com/yhw23ol Note that "Each plume produces up to 100,000 seeds that are widely dispersed by wind and develop without fertilization. " My hope is that in the future peace will be promoted without threatening our native coastal plants.

What’s wrong with downtown Half Moon Bay?

Let's make Main Street into a pedestrian zone and have the farmer's market right at Kelly and Main every weekend. Downtown would become a lot more pedestrian friendly. Right now walkers have to dodge planters and benches and store displays. And, add awnings to the buildings so shoppers can walk in the rain. Barbara Kossy
