Letter: Just a thought

Whoever made the comment that "nothing" can be done about the endless circling, low flying noise over residential areas is one of the reasons it's taken so long for action being taken. How wonderful it is for pilots to enjoy their sunny rides, while people on the ground have to close up their homes, wear earplugs and forget they have a yard to relax in & enjoy. The huge increase of these invasive planes is illegal & can be proven. For the pilots, why don't you fly over your own homes &…

Tim, your feedback needs no response. People in the "know" will read & understand the superficiality from whence it comes.

Just heard about the lst televised fire over the hill, caused by fireworks "already"!! This "safe & sound" policy makes absolutely no sense. O.K., so you can have the ones that drop on the dry ground; just not up into the air?? So it's money that's more important. Well tell the people who have lost their homes & belongings to fires if the money made from the sale of fireworks covers that. Some "traditions" that are not safe need to be changed. It's called "positive growth".

Aircraft over Montara

John, how grateful we are to see that others are finally taking action to stop these illegal flyers. If you look up on the TownHall, comments were starting last April, and complaints have been made for literally "YEARS". Of course they weren't documented. These planes are so "out of touch" that I swear I thought at times they were going to land on our roof!! Of course our livestock is being scared to death. Just hope you don't get an e-mail like I did telling me "Why don't you just DIE, and leave…

Letter: New information on low flying aircraft into HMB Airport

An "Idea" someone just gave me. To get in touch with a T.V. station that would be interested in getting involved in covering this issue. The media can give great coverage, and open up a few minds that may help stop the injustice that has been going on forever. Someone told me one reason there are more planes is due to the increase of the San Carlos Instructor's charges. Hearsay, but could be a piece of it. If anyone out there is interested in getting the media involved, and have suggestions how to…

I just don't "get it"!! Yesterday was like Pearl Harbor all over again. We happened to to to a market near Hwy 1 & Vermont. I could not believe the horrendous noise from those low flying planes. I have great compassion for the people having to "put up" with this. You can't even talk, they're so loud. My question is to the people who live in that area why someone hasn't put together a group who will work together to provide the evidence needed for the FAA to get involved. One person down there told…

K........to get to this site, I just googled Half Moon Bay Airport Noise. The lst page will show you the listing of all the violators I mentioned. Then on the side, you'll see the "links" to FAA, the HMB's airport info on how planes are to come in & leave, etc. and too much info for me to put online. carole

The noise has "stopped"!! So the only peace we get is when the weather's too bad for those planes to fly. Doing more research, and when I googled Half Moon Bay Airport Noise, I came up with a lot of information, in the event some haven't found it. Somebody had monitored planes breaking rule after rule. He listed names; where the planes came from, etc. Starting in March, he noted 3 planes; up to September when he noted 22!! There are links on this page to the FAA. I would so much like to connect with…

Yes, that loud red one. Like isn't that in itself "noise pollution", and it's constant. Great that you're going to get some good shots. Just remember to get the information of connecting with the FAA, and keep copies of every bit of your communication/pictures, etc. Well Frank, I have had that experience. Being an ex-sheriff, my age, disability, etc. they gave me a break of not being "charged" for my threatening complaints. So is this how it works? The victims complain (perhaps inappropriately) &…

I cannot believe the County's post about this airport, so it's promoting the "big change"!! Of course, they're "over the hill", and won't be affected by this noise pollution & safety issues. Dan, a very polite request that these pilots? put their legal hats on, and maybe add a little compassion for those of us being affected by their lack of respect for others. Like you, our animals are in terror when they come so close to our sensitive horses; I mean a few hundred feet above so that we can read…

Forgot to add that we do "not" live by the airport. We are "out" of their flight patterns, but doesn't seem to be a problem for anyone, but those of us who are subjected to it.

Letter: Noise abatement violations over Montara

October 09, 2007
Well obviously our complaints have not changed these intruders as last Sunday & yesterday were as bad as ever. And now that our weather is changing, probably won't see as many. Perhaps they've heard enough about their violations being monitored, and will pick another airport/neighborhood to harrass.

Sorry, just upset when I posted that. I meant it is illegal to give Pilots our names/addresses. But apparently that's been violated as well.

Well via the grapevine, heard officials are letting the pilots know our names/locations, etc. even though it's legal. So I'm out of here, and will hope others will do what is required for official complaints. Tail #, time of day, where they are flying, and why it's against the FAA policy. No way should others invade our privacy & peace!!

Well I just called the number posted by Barb, hoping it was a "different" connection. However, it was the San Carlos Airport, and I've been calling them for weeks. They told me they've been over here and do not believe any of the planes have violated either the noise or height regulations. In other words, we're all liars. I did get the FAA President's name in Washington, D.C. who is the highest you can go before the President (oh no)!! Anyway, for those who are interested in calling him.........His…

Good question Barry; that's next on my list. The FAA in Oakland who governs the HMB airport Noise Abatement shuttled me down to Southern California's FAA, who has never returned my call (over a week ago). I have a few other numbers to call that may lead me to a higher source. Meanwhile, if anyone does get pictures or numbers, it would be helpful for us to share the information & start compiling evidence. Thanks for asking.

K. Loegering..........My 2 month complaints have taken me "nowhere". Talked to supervisors at both HMB & San Carlos numerous times. Don at San Carlos told me he came up Sunshine Valley one day and didn't see any violations. HMB denies any as well. Well he's viewing from the airport where they do land & take off. That's not the issue. It's when they come way low over populated neighborhoods & circle them; not the airport. FAA just tells you without numbers, not much can be done. Well like all Big…
