Thanks Cheri and Barry for posting this! I really am amazed at how professional the actors are. I am putting this production on my calendar.
The Fitzgerald Marine Reserve is a Reserve and Not a beach. Kids with shovels and buckets need to go to beaches. People were blocking neighbor's driveways. People were standing on top of sensitive habitats and carrying walking sticks. There were some dogs on the Reserve and some people dropping liter. Thank you to the Rangers and Volunteers. The Park Rangers are spread very thin in this County. The docents are great volunteers. There will be low tide days in December so planning should be done now,…
David and Sabrina, you both raise some important points. In January, I plan on making some calls about this situation. It can't and shouldn't endure what is currently going on.
Mother Earth is constantly under attack, from bombs dropping to curious people picking up sensitive endangered species.
Congratulations! I think these individuals each bring tremendous energy, great ideas and a positive interaction of ideas. The MCC is a dynamic platform for Coastside residents to represent the needs of Coastsiders.
Also, thank-you to all the candidates who ran. I admire your contributions to the Democratic process.
Thank-you Cheri for the Pumpkin Festival photographs. And, another big Thank-You for Barry's Interviews of the MCC candidates. You and Barry are so generous with your time. Your contibutions to our community are exemplary!
Thanks Bill for this reminder. I hope this meeting is well attended. The Harbor is a precious resource! It's one of the main reasons I moved to the Coastside, 32 years ago, when my daughter was four years old.
I encourage interested citizens to attend fire board meetings. There is one this evening. The agenda is posted and is also on the CFPD website.
There are also handouts available. Chief Cole highlighted, at our August 16th meeting, areas of the Coastside Fire Protection District budget that likely would be negatively effected if we were to make the CalPERS termination and go to bonds at this time. Please feel free to
call the Chief with your questions: 726-5213.
Vince, Chief Cole made a compelling case with his fiscal projection on what areas of the budget would be effected. His handouts, his comments and the notes I took regarding his answers to board questions were also very thorough. I followed up after the meeting with both Chiefs Cole and Ferreira to confirm my interpretation of the data.
Montara Fog has a video of the fire board's July 27th meeting. The meeting includes a panel of experts discussing bonds. Following that bond discussion there is a discussion of CalPERS.
Thank-you Lee! I will look into Sage.org. Also,
The Khan Academy is being tested for its efficacy. I think math tutors and teachers can use the Academy in conjunction with traditional classroom instruction.
Sorry I meant theorem, not therom. I was out late last night at the fire board meeting. GMcS
I attended The Mavericks Surf Contest meeting at the Coastside Fire Protection District on Friday December 17th at 10am. All agency(s) personnel were present to discuss each agency's jurisdiction, mission during the Maverick's Contest, special enforcement/response issues if applicable and commitment of personnel and equipment. Law enforcement and emergency services discussed traffic, security, and staging areas. Discussion of layout and vehicle placement at the Command Post and perimeter of the main/adjacent…
Thanks Susan! I love living here.
I do not plan on voting for a harbor commissioner who will have taxpayers pay for their health insurance. That is both an unusual practice and an enormous expense to taxpayers. Listen carefully to the video and you can see which candidates feel as I do.
Thanks Barry and Darin; this is a great help for voters!
How nice to see the photographs of this extraordinary accomplishment.
Leonard, it wasn't an arbritory decision. We needed to hold our CFPD meeting when our attorney was available. Maybe, you could discuss this topic on the second Wednesday in February since it is a safety issue. Thanks.
This is the same night that Coastside Fire Protection District is holding its regularly scheduled meeting. I am very interested in this topic.
Will there be a memorial service for June? I am sure many people would like to pay their respects.
