I think the most telling sign is the "8 votes is no mandate." Grady and Gorn and many of their supporters are certainly into "hardball politics," so I don't see how that sign is anything but overly dramatic. Go to smartvoter.org, add up the votes for Patridge, McClung and Muteff - 5,739 Add up the votes for Grady, Ferriera & Skinner - 5,295 Ignore the recount amounts for now, as they are not material to the discussion. One thing is crystal clear - 444 votes is a very clear mandate for change. 284…

HMB Ranger, me too. email me at [email protected] I am sure you can figure out what the xxxxx is.

oh, ok. Haven't heard that before - right. According to the city attorney... https://coastsider.com/comments/843_0_1_0_C/ That still reads like a very convenient explanation after the fact.

we are (at least I am). where did I mention the CUSD board? Are you trying to change the subject?

I know who you are. Research isn't real difficult these days thanks to those nice billionaires at Google. Is this clearer? My OPINION is that the current city council majority and many of their supporters would not be unhappy if it just sat EMPTY as a pseudo-city yard with a bunch of plastic weed liners laying around. Until 92/Main gets done, no EIRs will likely permit the park to be fully developed. Even then, it is not a sealed deal. In the meantime - no interest payments, no noise, no development,…

*I* said that there are homeowners who don't want to share an open area? Gee...ever read about Cypress Cove? Either you haven't or you did not read very closely. why do you care who I am? I am not George Muteff or Clay Lambert, so don't worry.

jz - can you elaborate on why voters should know a specific definition from planning code? If growth limits are basically in place and the city council clearly has a "limited-growth" majority in place, what are you so fearful of? and why are you so bitter? take a shot at Naomi for her past deeds - fine. Why take a shot at families (many of whom commute but would not want to live anywhere else) who want parks that exist or will actually be built? seems like you are the frustrated one. Do you hate…

so your personal attacks are better than others? Facts? Did you want to name names or keep pussy-footing around some sort of evil "force" lurking on the coast like them surfboard-eating sharks. I didn't know this was a Bush-haters forum. Go to Yahoo, you'll find plenty there. Perhaps you'll also find a sense of humor (oh, buy people are dying in Iraq, we can't dare laugh...)

Speaking of voting - I would definitely vote for Barry's posts over mine and most others in terms of relevance and eloquence. That said, I think debocracy ends up dead last. Deb - what planet are you on? Neoconservatives? If you are referring to Muteff, sure, he is definitely of the conservative bent. But..."profits are more important than people."? On the other hand, if you are referring to Oscar Braun...

I'm really sorry you are offended, Mr. Lundell. No, really. Offense/defense? Is that the what the "engagement" is about? How about consensus, unity, cooperation?

Barry, I was not attacking you as Mr. Boyd and Mr. Lundell suggest (and Mr. Lundell, you cannot dissect a statement and still call it context - you're smarter than that). Again, his inadvertent error makes the reporting, when taken as a whole, very strange. Did I call it unseemly or illegal? No. I would offer an apology, however, I do not believe that I have done anything to suggest you have done something wrong. Mr. Lundell/Boyd are doing that.

Scott, I was not disparaging coastsider.com, I was explaining the use of the terms "article" and/or "ad." So, seems like Mike F. made an inadvertent error in his description of the "product" he purchased on coastsider.com. Hence, my confusion (which Mr. Lundell now seems to think is a big conspriracy). I was not attacking the "Voice of the Coast" website. You want a website to voice your views - rock on. You want to shove stuff in my mailbox that is clearly designed to fool people into believing…

Keep it in context, Mr. Lundell, before you start accusing. I said "articles" or "ads." You conveniently left out the latter. Ferreira's schedule lists payment to "Voice of the Coast" for "advertisement." If it is a "newspaper," which Ken King says it is not, then perhaps it was an advertisement. He did also pay coastsider.com for an "article." Barry could clarify which article if he wanted to. It does not specify print or website, but I assumed the print version. Why would LCP give I will retract…

roads paved! Wow! Did they put up neat little "your tax dollars at work signs"? Parks purchased?? Why?? Great deal for Nurseryman's Exchange. HMB already has parkland that isn't being developed (Sewer Plant Road - perfect place, but "special interests" are in the way. Not developers.) substandard lot changes, LCP update, 92 funded - what took so long? They actually held up 92 funding with their shenanigans. so... developers working *with* the city are somehow not "special interests?" When they support…

Thanks, Barry. Hal - resentment is a pretty strong word. I think a better term, in my case, is probably amusement with a touch of disappointment - grassroots efforts should not be designed to fool people. Calling it "news" and making it look like "news" is disingenuous.

" Given my druthers, PAC’s wouldn’t be allowed to donate to political campaigns on the Coastside." I agree 100%. "Given their druthers, the Grady, Ferreira, and Skinner campaigns might have opted for the cash over Voice of the Coast." Can you elaborate? Do you think the Voice of the Coast "news coverage" helped or hurt them or might the cash have been put to better use? I guess it remains to be seen... Perhaps all of the political donations could just have been given to Back to Basics. Odd flow…

Barry - Thanks, however, the tactics/messages of both are "news" and you did spotlight the sign thefts and the Grady rock incident. If the Review isn't going to examine the differences, who is? The rhetoric from both sides is a little ridiculous, but what's new... HMB Ranger - web site is one thing. I think the print version of Voice of the Coast is pretty smelly. Another thing - the ongoing Lohman/King vs. Larimer/Jones letters to the editor bickering make them all look rather juvenile. Same blame…
