Does Comcast carry PCT for the mid coast area? If so, what channel?

Again, the influence of big bucks win out over legitimate community and environmental concerns.

GGNRA plans to ban all dogs from Rancho Corral de Tierra;  Protest meeting Saturday

January 24, 2011
Can anyone point me to a map of the entire area of concern here? I am familiar with the north of Montara area, but not how far south it extends to or in El Granada, where I live and usually walk my dog. I have to agree with your comments Bill, and would be perfectly willing to abide by reasonable rules.

We talked to the owners about not featuring seafood and vegie dishes. They said they just wanted to keep the menu simple for a few weeks to start, but they would be adding these dishes as specials in a few weeks.

@Gail: Certainly no offense taken. :)

I am amazed at your logic Gail. You haven't tried it, but you are willing to believe that it can't be equal or better than Gibraltar. Maybe your are right, but don't you think you should try it first? Just as Barry, not having tried it either, suggests that the pool of reviewers must be less than critical. ????

Take 2, lunch today, still excellent on all counts. People at nearby tables were also remarking how much they enjoyed their meals.

HMB considers its (lack of) budget options in special meeting

November 05, 2010
"Spoken like a true entrenched Old Guard politician who is used to running the City without any opposition." Right on Kevin. It is the old guard who keep getting cycled in and out of the city council who got the city into this whole mess in the first place.

"City Council member were clearly stunned by the measure’s defeat." Just shows how out of touch they are with the community.

A ballot measure to increase HMB sales tax?

Well Barry, I don't have a vote because I am not a resident. If I were, dissolution would be my choice.

A ballot measure to increase HMB sales tax?

If the latte is "to go", there is no sales tax anyway. There is no sales tax on most hot beverages to go in California, although many shops don't adhere to this. As far as groceries being free of tax, in our case, close to half of the bill is on taxable items. I think some businesses who sell higher end items will be hit hard. What about James Ford? What effect will this have on the already sagging real estate market? The article in the County Times pointed out that the Beechwood bond dept would…

At least to San Mateo, as we do so often now, and it wouldn't be just $1.00 on groceries.

I use N. David Lessani, 319 Church St., HMB. 712-9411. Very happy with his thoroughness, and willingness to discuss medical issues in everyday language.

Photo: Jackie Speier’s health care town hall in Montara

"While the majority of attendees supported of the House plan to reform health care, a strong and [vocal majority] opposed reform" I think you meant to say a "vocal minority." It appeared to me that there were even more attendees after this photo was taken.

Coastside beaches to be closed in budget deal

July 21, 2009
Even if they barricade parking, a lot of the beach property listed is either hiking or biking accessible from my home. A lot of areas are accessible via residential or commercial parking. How will they keep people out? Will they have rangers citing people who simply walk in? Can they afford to patrol the property? Will they bother? I don't suppose anyone has these answers right now, but it seems like much of this will be an exercise in futility.

Letter: Delicious food at 7th Street Montara—locals’ discounts, too

March 20, 2009
The trouble with a letter like this, promoting a business, is that it is a single opinion from someone who may not be an expert critic.
