Sorry, Bob--I didn't phrase that clearly. I really just meant that I think Gibraltar is superlative--truthfully one of my favorite restaurants in the Bay Area--and it has been my favorite local place for years. I love the ambience and the unusual combinations of spices and ingredients (not to mention the vegetarian and vegan options).
This new place may be equally fine in a different way. No offense intended and glad you had a good experience.

I'll try it at some point but I love Gibraltar and think it's the best we've got on the Coast.

Has Sinbad actually been living on a boat or was that a metaphor?

Kevin, the DX no longer exists. It was eliminated as part of the Samtrans cuts last year. I used to use it to commute to SF. Now I drive to Colma BART.

Just wrote a note to Samtrans. I hope they do not cut these essential routes (CX, DX, and 17). Locals--please write.

Suzanne, I agree with you wholeheartedly. This just doesn't make sense from a financial standpoint. Penny wise, pound foolish. And the ironic thing is that if you go to the state parks' Web site, the governor's page is highlighted right up top. Click on it and you'll discover that May is "National Tourism Month" and see the following quote (ironically enough): We are lucky to have a Governor who gets Tourism and supports our efforts to keep this industry strong, and I urge legislators at the state…

What is Chavez Market?
I would love a TJs. Whole Foods is expensive...some people would shop there, others wouldn't.
Wonder what Albertsons shoppers would like to see go in.

I have to laugh at Mr. Hoffman's missives. I can't take them seriously. Perhaps San Francisco should be torn down and restored to its natural state as of, say, 1700 or so--before the Mission period. Starting with Golden Gate Park and the removal of Highway 1...oh, and Geary, and Van Ness, and all of those other nasty roads, and every other structure in the city. After all, none of us should be driving anywhere. If we do choose to travel, it should be on foot, bicycle, or horseback only. And we shouldn't…

It's not just you, I totally agree. Why on earth aren't they having it near HMB? Maybe they DON'T want to fight the traffic...and maybe they should have to!

Same here, I heard that report on the radio, but then it didn't recur and I have seen nothing since.
