HMB Safeway isn’t as expensive as you think, but it’s no bargain

June 20, 2008
Sonoma is similar to hmb. The population is similar to HMB and they serve a 30-mile radius. They have a gourmet organic store and a slave way (Safeway). Everybody still goes to Safeway for the over 30% off manufacturer sponsored weekly savings in the form of a 2 for one etc. Their buying power even dwarfs Trader Joes in this area. You can actually live on the 2 for ones at Safeway if you try. It is mostly limited to dry goods (non fresh products) like cheerios but we all need some Windex at 50% off…

Since Peets can't take over starbucks location in HMB lets communicate to their pr agency in san francisco it is their responsabily not to display the same preditory example starbuck emulates. petes has never displayed anything of this sort in thier 35 year history and the more people that call them the better. the same goes for new leaf in thier 10 years of exisgtance. the landlord isnt going to care about Bechar. please call these…

SamTrans adding buses from Coastside to BART

June 05, 2006
This new Samtrans its not express service. I took it today. It stops at the trailer park and all the way up at Moonridge and everywhere in between. It’s the same milk run as the regular 294 except it goes to Bart not to caltrain. SamTrans has no intention of promoting express service. Especially when they and Bart are suing each other over Bart Feeder service issues from four years ago. The Pacifica DX SF express has been a fight between the riders and samtrans for years. Why would they want to…

Caltrans may end “free” right turns onto Hwy 92 for HMB commuters

May 17, 2006
Hiway 1 might be open one way in July or Aug some caltrans people say, so don't worry too much about getting your test chauffer. Laws and democratic society are subject to interpretation beyond one voice one vote. Usually logic prevails. By the way someone should ask at the meeting tonight to see if caltrans is willing to admit the possibility of commute one way openings this summer

Caltrans may end “free” right turns onto Hwy 92 for HMB commuters

May 17, 2006
I have 5 tricks that save time on my commute. Taking the bus, leaving my second car beyond the traffic, sneaking thru El Granada, riding my bike. Etc. They all work but as a Montara resident cal trans has the right idea. Half moon bay people will realize on their way north to starbucks in strawflower that if they stay to the left on hiway one and avoid Kelly they will be able to get around the mess this light will create. Yes if they use 92 they will have to wait in line to get to 92 for maybe up…

Traffic is flowing well Monday morning

April 21, 2006
I have an opinion about how next weeks commute will be. In response to mmckinnel on the reverse 4-7pm commute - he made is a good point. They should let traffic flow better across Main Street. Don’t let this week trick you though. The four to seven commute will get worse next week. Passover ended yesterday at sundown and second week of Easter break is over especially for the college kids this Sunday. Traffic should be allowed to flow unimpeded from 92 onto north or southbound 1. The only problem…
