Keith,
I told my husband who was an Inspector at his polling place........he does that every election.......and he said that all Inspectors and Judges are asked to bring flash-lights with them to the polling place for just such an eventuality. He said his polling place was equipped with 3 flash-lights.....but they were lucky enough not to have lost power.

Neil.......I agree with everything you have to say! As a real estate agent, I can't tell you how many prospective buyers have said to me....."I just want to build a small house on a small lot....I don't want anything big". I was also surprised to see the Coastsider.com cover this as a good thing for the community.
No one complained about lack of permits.
No one complained about disobeying the law.
We're lucky no one was hurt and I'm thankful for that.
But there were lots of legal fireworks displays around.........and we're going to have the American Legion do this next year.

I echo Ray Olson and the others who have stated their unwavering support for our future decision makers, aka our community's children, by supporting Measure S. Our school board members and the parents of our community as well as hundreds of other volunteers are truly making a difference by coming forth with suggestions and plans to improve one of the most important aspects of our Coastside infrastructure......our schools. Grant Wilcox, Senior Engineering Geologist on the Slide repair project, explains how how the Devil’s Slide geology works, why it is so unstable, how it was repaired in 1995, why Caltrans has temporarily suspended activity on the Slide, and why Caltrans can’t simply build a bridge over the damaged portion of the Slide. In response to Linda's comments, I think Caltrans will go wherever they've been invited....so far they've been to the HMB City Council and, I think to the Midcoast Council. In fact I think I recall that there was a video up on this website from that MCC meeting. Am I right?

This morning, Keyhan Moghbel, Caltrans, gave a very informative update to the Coastside Realtors on the Devil's Slide situation........with questions, it lasted an hour.
