2-inch hitch on the Coast?

I just bought a fancy bike rack for my car (on sale through a non-coast mail order business, starts with “L.L….”; sorry Bike Works…) and so now I need a 2-inch hitch receiver thingy welded to my car.

I know U-haul over the hill does this—how about someone on the coast?

As soon as I get that done I can take our bikes down to HMB for service…

Thanks,

HMB Auto Repair (behind Ocean Shore hardware store) does this, but you have to give them a couple days notice to get the right hitch for your car.

Hi Matt,

I saw your note too late and didn’t get a price quote from HMB Auto. But I did get a quote from U-Haul over in San Mateo. They wanted $140 for the part and another $110 for labor ($75/hour).

So instead I ordered a custom-fit Draw-tite model from a mail-order place in Texas for $118. Attaches to the car frame through pre-existing holes—20 minutes installation…
