If you rush down right now to the Comfort Inn Conference Room in Half Moon Bay you may be able to see if it is ‘white smoke or black smoke’.

Our illustrious School Board is meeting in Closed Session until “RECONVENE OPEN SESSION – 3:00 P.M.” for “Public Employment (Government Code 54957) Superintendent” - a four hour Closed Session. The meeting was announced Fri 14-Sep-07 08:00.

In a process that would make Vice President Dick Cheney envious of conducting an entire process designed to exclude the public, a new School Superintendent is being chosen? Board members have said they want someone just like Superintendent Bayless. I guess that means we will get someone internal to the district or we are hiring the Superintendent of East Palo Alto School District - the only other School District in the county to vie with CUSD.

The excitement is so overwhelming - YAWN!

O.K., comparing CUSD with East Palo Alto School District is not fair:

GROUPS CUSD East Palo Alto School District

White 48.9% 00.4%
Disadvantaged 38.9% 88.5%
English Learners 35.9% 76.8%

It is not fair to East Palo Alto School District - CUSD has a cake-walk by comparison!
