O Danny Boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling—and the fiddles, too.  The Coastside’s own Peninsula Scottish Fiddlers will offer their yearly concert on Saturday June 26 in Daly City.  Featured performers will be the Peat-Fire Flame duo (champion fiddler Colyn Fischer and pianist Shauna Pickett-Gordon).  Members of the Stewart Tartan Pipes & Drums will share the stage with the Fiddlers, along with singer Burr Nissen.

The concert is on Saturday June 26 starting at 7:30 p.m., in the sanctuary of Broadmoor Presbyterian Church, 377 87th Street, Daly City.  Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for seniors and students, and may be reserved by calling 650-728-0862.

These musicians are in demand all over the Bay area at Scottish games, clan events, fairs, festivals, parties and other events.  In addition, they perform full-length concerts to let their audiences sample the full range of their repertoire: traditional Caledonian tunes played in the authentic Highland style of the old Scottish fiddle masters, and newly composed tunes in the Scottish style.  Rounding out the program will be music from the Shetland Islands, Cape Breton, Ireland and Wales.  Driving reels, bouncing jigs, sweeping waltzes, stirring marches, graceful and lively strathspeys, and tender airs will be heard.

Videos and a full calendar of events are on the Fiddlers’ website:  http://www.thefiddlers.com and the Peat-Fire Flame’s website: http://www.scotsduo.com The Fiddlers’ and duo’s five CDs will be on sale at the concert, and also may be found on CDBaby.com. The Stewart Tartan Pipes & Drums are at http://www.stewarttartan.com.

Don’t miss the one and only full-length concert this year by these exciting performers!
