...Another powerful storm to impact the california coast saturday night and sunday…

Another strong storm system is gaining strength over the gulf of alaska this morning. This storm is approaching the oregon and northern california coast…And will drive a very strong cold front across our coastal waters tonight and sunday.

After a brief reprieve this morning…Southerly winds will increase across the northern coastal waters this afternoon and evening. Winds are expected to reach gale force north of point reyes by midnight tonight…With frequent gusts to storm force developing ahead of the cold front by daybreak sunday morning.

As this front moves across the coastal waters…Mariners can expect similar conditions to those experienced last monday. A burst of very strong winds is likely as the cold front passes. These stronger winds are likely to occur in san francisco bay on sunday…With local gusts to 60 knots possible in windier locations such as from the golden gate bridge to angel island.

The strong winds will once again generate very steep seas across the coastal waters late tonight and sunday. Waters inside the san francisco and monterey bays will become extremely choppy sunday and sunday evening due to the strong winds.

Mariners are advised to plan to remain in port tonight and sunday if possible. Preparations should be made immediately for the strong winds…Including tying down your boats in harbor. Stay tuned to noaa weather radio or local media for further updates on this developing weather situation.
