CCO CONCERT MAY 5th

Coastside Community Orchestra (CCO) performs its spring concert, Saturday, May 5th at 7:00 p.m. at the Community United Methodist Church in Half Moon Bay.  The concert includes Rimsky-Korsakov’s “Russian Easter Overture” and the prelude from Humperdinck’s opera “Hansel and Gretel,” and Haydn’s “Surprise” Symphony. The orchestra will also play Copland’s “Hoe-Down.”

Special guests include violin teacher Claudine Schwarz’s students performing Tchaikovsky’s Waltz from “Sleeping Beauty,” and Strauss’ “Tales from Vienna Woods.” Ms. Schwarz, one of the founding members of the orchestra, taught violinist Quinn Sommer, who will be concertmaster at this performance.
The CCO will award its annual music scholarships to local music students at this concert.
