Free community breakfast every Thursday in HMB
In concert with the Catholic Social Workers, Coastside Lutheran Church is hosting a free Community Breakfast on Thursday mornings, starting at 7 a.m. The first Thursday netted 8 people. Last Thursday, 39 were fed. The demographics were wide spread: families with children, homeless men and women, just plain hungry people in need. The congregation will vote on May 10 whether to make this a regular, weekly event to assist those in need on the Coastside.

Sounds great - direct giving to the community. Ok for non-affiliated people to contribute, especially by volunteering?

Yes! This is all a volunteer effort by my congregation. Donations would be most welcome.
Thanks for your kind thoughts.

If you are interested in volunteering to help with our Community Breakfast at the Coastside Lutheran Church, you can either just appear as a pair of willing extra hands on Thursday mornings between 7:00 am and 9:00 am. We are at 900 N. Cabrillo Highway, west side of Highway 1 between HMB and Casa del Mar. Or, you can contact our coordinator, Joan McBride at 726-9266. We could use donations of paper plates, utensils, cups, as well as coffee, juice, and food items. Joan can direct you with that.
And thank you! We are feeding lots of hungry families on the Coast every Thursday morning. Maybe in time we can expand the number of days!
