County to offer low-income pediatric services in HMB

By on Mon, May 4, 2009

Pediatric Services for the 1,000 low-come Coastside children will begin at the County Medical Center’s Coastside Clinic in Half Moon Bay on Tuesday, according to the County. While many adult patients were reassigned locally to a new medical home, there was insufficient pediatric capacity available in the Half Moon Bay area to reassign the youth patients of CFMC.

Pediatric staff will be available in the clinic on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, from 8 AM-4:30 PM. Over the next 3-6 months the clinic will work to expand days of Pediatric services and eventually serve up to 1000 Coastside children.

The clinic will serve only those families on government insurance programs such as Medi-Cal, Healthy Families and Healthy Kids. Well child and sick visits will be by appointment only. The clinic is located on the second floor at 225 South Cabrillo Highway, Half Moon Bay, above the location of the former CFMC. Appointments can be made by calling 650-573-3941.

Patients needing pediatric services outside of clinic hours can call the toll free Nurse Advice Line, 866-535-6977 or the San Mateo Medical Center Main Campus Pediatric Clinic at 650-573-3602.
