MCC focuses on Highway 1 at its first meeting of 2011, Wednesday

Tonight’s MCC meeting has several items that address Highway 1. A late addition to the meeting will be an appearance by Capt. Mike Maskarich of the California Highway Patrol.  Capt. Maskarich is the commander of the Redwood City CHP area, which includes the San Mateo coast.  He will comment on a recent series of accidents on Highway 1 in El Granada.  The item will be taken up in the “Other Public Officials”

Planned agenda items include an update on Highway 1 planning activities and an update on the Devil’s Slide South Portal Pedestrian and Bicycle Crossing.  The MCC will consider a letter to elected officials addressing concerns about the planned crossing.
