OUTDOOR BEER GARDEN WITH PUBLIC CELEBRATION ON SEPTEMBER 29

Opening party on Thursday features Mavericks® Oktoberfest Beer Release and guest appearance by Half Moon Bay Art & Pumpkin Festival poster artist, Ellen Joseph

Half Moon Bay Brewing Company, a beloved destination known for handcrafted beer, sustainable coastal cuisine, scenic outdoor patio firepits and live music, heralds the opening of its new Mavericks Beer Garden with a grand opening  src=celebration for the community this Thursday, Sept. 29. Located between the main restaurant and the brewery, this new space seats 50 guests in approximately 1,200 square feet of private outdoor space. The Beer Garden, which features its own bar and a stage, is available for private events and will be open to the public on busy, sunny weekends.

Thursday’s celebration will also introduce the 2011 Maverick’s Oktoberfest Ale, a true, amber-colored German Lager made with German Munich malt and Hallertau hops.  Local artist Ellen Joseph will be on hand signing copies of her Half Moon Bay Art & Pumpkin Festival 2011 commemorative poster, “Pumpkins by the Sea,” as well.

Guests at the opening celebration will enjoy a preview of Chef Gaston Alfaro’s Oktoberfest menu items, including tastes of Smoked Pork with sauerkraut, Bratwurst served with Mavericks Ale and paprika sauce, and Potato Cakes with apple sauce.
