Halloween Ha! Ha!  with Lieben McDermott at Gazos Grill, Friday

The Coastside’s Hysterical Housewives headliner Lieben McDermott will perform Friday Night, Halloween, October 31, 2008, at Gazos Grill, Pescadero, California.  Hysterical Housewife Jennifer Celeste kick off the show.  Doors open at 5:30 pm with dinner served until to 8pm.  The Comedy starts at 9 pm. 

"Come on down to Gazos for a screamin’ meal," says proprietor, Stephanie.  "Join us for a frightfully delicious night with wicked food,  home-brew and hilarious comedy." 

Advance tickets are recommended and can be reserved by calling 650-726-5424 or purchased online [link].  Tickets are also available from Lieben McDermott at Duarte’s Tavern in Pescadero, or from Stephanie Hare at the 7th Street Grill in Montara.  Tickets for the comedy are $20 plus a can of food or non-perishable food item. Reservations are recommended for the optional fixed priced dinner, $25. The Dinner is a four course meal with Halloween specials and ocean dining.

There will be dancing and the costume contest judging will be around 11pm with prizes from local business including a wine and cheese basket with cheeses from Harley Farms, dinner for two at the 7th Street Montara, and dinner for 2 at Gazos Grill.  The grand prize is one night in Pescadero’s Creek Inn Bed and Breakfast, in the Rose Room.  Costume judging will be for best individual with one runner up, best couple, and scariest.

Lieben McDermott, of Pescadero, California, says "Hey, when enough of my friends ask me to put on a show, I guess I just gotta get up there."  Hysterical Housewives began as a comedy workshop in 2004.  They made their television debut on the Ian Butler Show, on Channel 26, Pacifica Community Television. "It’s all about risk, and getting up there and finding out what moves an audience to laughter.  It’s great to bring out such varied styles and senses of humor, " says producer and Half Moon Bay resident Hester Schell.

The Hysterical Housewives’ commitment to community action continues with a food drive to benefit Coastside Hope.

The next workshop starts in November.  It’s a six week class and then…" we get up there with a live performance. It’s great to bring out the very best in these hidden comic talents. It’s a risk, but hey… if it’s in you, you’ve just got to do it," says producer Schell.  "I couldn’t be more proud of Lieben’s accomplishments in stand-up comedy.  She’s developed a fan base and absolutely loves what she’s doing up there.  She just shines!"
