High surf advisory for Tuesday, Wednesday

By on Tue, November 2, 2010

The National Weather Service predicts breaking waves from 15 to 20 feet in height and possibly 25 feet in some locations. These are the result of a strong storm system—which moved inland over British Columbia produced large long period swells. These swells are expected to reach the central coast this morning and will produce large breaking waves within the surf zone of west and northwest facing beaches.

Watch out for strong rip currents and "sneaker waves". Be especially careful on around rocks and coves where you could be cut off.
