DUI, battery on a SamTrans bus by a juvenile, indecent exposure at Redondo Beach, a missing 14-year-old girl turns up at a friend’s house, graffiti on Main Street and the Pilarcitos Creek Bridge, a stolen pig-shaped mailbox, used oil being dumped near a business, graffiti on San Mateo Road, shoplifting, two rowdy drunks are removed from a HMB restaurant, and a second missing 14-year-old girl comes home at midnight. 0585    04/24 0312      NB SR1 Roosevelt to Coronado    23152(A)VC22350 VC16028(A)VC12500(A)VC  Officer on patrol observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed and performed traffic stop.  The driver appeared to be intoxicated and failed field sobriety tests.  He was arrested on charges of driving under the influence, speeding, no license and no proof of insurance, and transported to First Chance. 0586    04/21 1500      San Mateo Rd    136.1(C )(1)PC  HMBPD officers assisted the Sheriff’s department in the investigation of a battery that occurred on a Sam Trans Bus involving several high school students.  Later one student punched the victim for informing the school administration and police of the earlier battery.  Police learned of the subsequent battery and arrested the suspect and transported him to Hillcrest Juvenile Detention Center.     Juvenile, Age 14 of Montara

0593    04/25 1830      SB SR1 @ Kelly  12500(A)VC      Officer made traffic stop on vehicle with defective windshield and found the driver to be unlicensed.  He was cited and released on his promise to appear in court.     Male, Age 21 of Moss Beach

0601    04/26 1400      N Cabrillo Hwy  653M(A) PC      Officer was dispatched to a report of annoying phone calls the victim was receiving at her place of employment from an unknown caller, making non-specific threats.  The victim was advised how to obtain a phone trap from the telephone company.

0602    04/27   Oak Ave 530.5 PC        Officer took report of identity theft.  The RP stated unknown subjects had used his child’s social security number to obtain medical coverage in Los Angeles County.   The case will be forwarded to a law enforcement agency in that county for investigation.

0603    04/27 1845      Dwight Ave      10-65   Officer received report of a missing 14 year-old female juvenile.  The RP reported his ex-wife had contacted him and informed him their daughter had not come home from school.  The girl was found later and told police she had gone to her cousin’s house and did not let her parents know where she was going.

0604    04/26-04/271200-0600    Main St 594(a)(1) PC    Officer was dispatched to a HMB business on the report of graffiti on an exterior wall of the business.  Similar graffiti was found on the Main St. Pilarcitos Creek Bridge that is believed to have occurred during the same time frame by the same unknown suspect(s).

0605    04/28 0904      Main @ Stone Pine       14601.1(A) VC4462.5 VC  Officer on patrol observed a vehicle with expired registration and performed a traffic stop.  The driver had a 2006 registration tab on his vehicle that he admitted to having purchased from an unknown subject for $30.  The driver was found to be driving with a suspended license and was cited and released on his promise to appear in court.   Male, Age 21 of HMB

0607    04/28 1300      N Cabrillo Hwy  20002(A)(1)VC   An officer was dispatched to non injury hit and run collision which occurred at the Strawflower Shopping Center.  The RP parked her vehicle there and later found damage to the passenger’s side rear bumper of the vehicle.

0609    04/28 1722      San Mateo Rd    11-80   Traffic collision-major injury.  A three year-old child sustained leg injuries after being hit by a slow moving vehicle in a shopping center parking lot.  The child was running ahead of his mother between two parked vehicles when he was struck by the vehicle.

0610    04/28 1754      Miramontes Pt Rd        10-99I  Officer was dispatched to report of a stolen golf cart.  It was later determined the subject who had reportedly taken the golf cart may have had permission from an employee to drive the cart.

0613    04/29 1420      Pinehurst Ln    10-99I  Officer was dispatched to report of unwanted subject who was seated within her vehicle outside the RP’s home.  The RP requested the person, who was known to him, be dispersed.  The woman was advised not to return to the residence, and the RP was explained the restraining order process.

0618    04/29-04/301600-1000    Kelly Ave       488 PC  Officer responded to report of stolen mailbox.  The mailbox had approximately two days of mail in it when it was stolen.  The victim told police he had added wooden pieces and paint to a standard mailbox to make it appear to look like a pig.  The mailbox was valued at $150.

0620    04/30 1537      Granelli Ave    136.1(B)(2)PC166(A)(4)PC        Officer dispatched to violation of a restraining order.  A woman advised that her ex-husband telephoned her in a threatening manner in violation of a restraining order.  While police were taking the report the suspect phoned again and made verbal threats against the woman and her current boyfriend.  The suspect was contacted by police and was advised of an Emergency Protective Order against him.  The case will be forwarded to the DA for review.

0621    04/30 2110      Main St 10-99I  Officers responded to call regarding merchandise left unattended outside a HMB business.  Items hanging on a rack had been left outside of the business after it had closed.  The items were taken for safekeeping until the owner could be contacted.

0622    05/011030-1315  Main St 10-99I  Officers responded to an immigration demonstration on Main Street.  The group grew from approximately 50-110 demonstrators as they marched throughout downtown HMB.  There were no incidents of violence or altercations.  Demonstrators were cooperative and accepted police direction without incident.

0624    05/01 1230      Alhambra Ave    10-99O  Officers assisted SM County Sheriff’s Dept in the report of a gang-related stabbing that occurred in El Granada.  HMB officers provided back up while Sheriff’s deputies made four arrests in the incident.

0645    05/05 0110-0125 N Cabrillo Hwy  10-99I  Officer responded to report of a possible theft from the Safeway store.  A Long’s employee caught an unidentified male taking automotive fluid from the drug store.  The subject then paid for the item and left the store, going to the nearby Safeway.  A short time later the Long’s employee observed the subject exit Safeway pushing a shopping cart with items in the cart, load them into his vehicle and leave.  It is unknown if a theft occurred at the Safeway store, therefore the report was taken for information only.

0646    05/07 1030      San Mateo Rd    490.5(A) PC     Officer dispatched to the Rite Aid regarding a shoplifter in custody.  Employees stopped a female suspect when the security sensor sounded, and found $12 worth of merchandise in the suspect’s purse.  She was placed under citizen’s arrest and cited and released on her promise to appear in court.
