A man in a stolen car tries to get around traffic barricades, a dispute between a business owner and a skateboarder downtown, a fire in a transient camp in the creek near Stone Pine Rd, a water rescue near Redondo beach, someone is may be alleging people kicked her dog in order to scam them, a group of 8 to 10 males chased some people off Poplar Beach, youngsters aged 14 to 19 caught drinking at the Cunha campus, and Sureño gang members attack a couple of people on the beach south of Kelly for wearing the wrong color.

0946 06/16-07/07 0700-0930 Unknown 460(B)PC A citizen reported his truck with camper had been towed and stored while he was out of town for approximately three weeks.  The citizen went to a tow yard in Redwood City to retrieve the vehicle, and found several items missing from inside the vehicle and camper, and found a child’s car seat inside that did not belong to him.  Officers were able to open the locked camper door by exerting some force.  The citizen reported an estimated $970 worth of items were taken from his vehicle, but it was not determined where the theft actually occurred.

0948 07/07 1434 Strawflower Shopping Center 10-99I Officers were contacted by a citizen who reported a verbal altercation with another female known to her.  Police did not determine a crime had been committed but advised the RP of the restraining order process.

849(B)(2) PC Officers were dispatched to report of several subjects drinking and causing a disturbance.  Officers made contact with the subjects and found one man who was determined to be too intoxicated to care for himself.  He was arrested for public intoxication and transported to First Chance.  Male, Age 36 Of HMB

0951 07/08 1552 Private Property W/O SR1 11-80 Officers responded to an injury off-highway motorcycle accident.  The motorcycle rider was transported to Stanford Hospital and treated for lacerations and an arm fracture.

0954 07/08-07/09 1700-1600 Poplar St 488 PC Officers were dispatched to the theft of an American flag from a residence.  The flag was valued at $16. 

0955   07/09 2259 SR1 @ Magellan 23152(A)VC 23152(B)VC Officer on patrol observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed and with expired registration.  The driver was contacted and appeared to be intoxicated.  He failed field sobriety tests and was arrested and transported to First Chance.  Male Age 24 Of Moss Beach

0530-1600 San Mateo Rd 10-99O Officer dispatched to a local business that had received a $20 bill from an unknown customer.  The bill was forwarded to the Secret Service for their review. 

0958 06/21 1800 Moss Beach 10-99O HMBPD received report from SM County Sheriff’s Dept. regarding a gang related parole violation arrest made by the Sheriff’s Deputies in their jurisdiction.  The report was forwarded to HMB police for information purposes.

0961 07/11 0832 EB SR92 E/O Main 10851(R) VC Officer performed traffic stop on vehicle for driving around road closure barricades, and found the vehicle to be stolen out of San Francisco.  The driver was arrested and transported to SM County Jail.  Male Age 52 Of HMB

0962 07/10-07/11 2200-1000 N. Cabrillo Hwy 20002(B)VC Officers took report of hit and run property damage collision that occurred overnight to a parked vehicle.  The unknown suspect left the scene without leaving contact information.

0965 07/11-07/12 1900-0930 N Cabrillo Hwy 594(A)(1)PC Officer dispatched to vandalism when someone damaged the glass to the front door of a church.     

0967 10-99O Creekside Dr 10-99O Police were dispatched to report of identity theft.  The RP reported her sister had used the RP’s identity while receiving a speeding citation out of state.  The sister had reportedly been driving the RP’s vehicle at the time of the citation.  HMB officers contacted the outside law enforcement agency to assist the citizen in getting the citation out of her name.  The case will be forwarded to that jurisdiction for their investigation. 

0968 07/13 1040 Main Street 10-99I Police were dispatched to meet with a business owner. The business owner had a verbal confrontation with a juvenile about skateboarding on the sidewalk in front of his business. The business owner wished to have the incident documented. 

0969 07/13 1500 Muirfield Dr 476 PC Police were dispatched to take a report of a fictitious check and possible mail scam. The RP reported he received a letter and check that he believed to be part of a lottery scam. The RP was advised to discontinue any contact with the check makers and given tips on prevention of such scams in the future. A copy of the report will be sent to the United States Secret Service.

0974 07/13-07/14 2000-1500 Myrtle St 459 PC Officer dispatched to the report of the theft of a bicycle from a garage.  The bicycle was valued at $358.00  

0975 07/14 2047 Stone Pine Rd 10-902 Officers responded to report of smoke.  A small fire was found in a creek area, in what appeared to be a transient camp.  A box springs, chair and bicycle were burned as a result of the fire.  No persons were in the area at the time.

0979 07/16 1127 Redondo Beach 10-99I 10-42 Officers were dispatched to a water rescue near Redondo Beach, when several boat occupants had been ejected from a small capsized fishing boat.  All four subjects were rescued and declined medical aid. 

0980 07/16 1205 Miramontes Pt Rd 10-415 Officers were dispatched to the gatehouse at Ocean Colony on the report of a disturbance, when a subject entered the gatehouse and attempted to remove a posted notice from within.  The subject left the gatehouse after the disturbance.  The gatehouse employee told his supervisor of the incident, who requested he notify police. 

0981 07/15-07/16 1500-1130 Touraine Ln 488 PC Officers were dispatched to theft from a vehicle.  The victim parked his vehicle in the driveway, unlocked, and when he returned found his satellite receiver had been taken from the vehicle.  The item was valued at $20.00.

0985 07/17 1315 Frontage Rd @ Kehoe 9.12.040 Officers dispatched to report of suspicious person reportedly walking in and out of traffic and waving his arms while drinking a beer.  The subject was contacted and although was not too intoxicated to care for himself, he was cited for open container and released on his promise to appear.  Male Age 33 Of HMB

0995 07/19 1515-1640 HMB 10-99I Officers were dispatched to suspicious circumstance, when the RP received a phone call from an unknown female who claimed her dog had been kicked by the RP’s husband, and that the dog was currently in surgery.  The RP’s husband denied the incident.  Shortly thereafter officers were dispatched to another address and took a similar type report.  It appeared the caller was laying the groundwork for some type of scam.  Parties were advised to call police if further calls were received.

1028 07/27 1100-1430 Spruce St.  10-66 Officers responded to a call of a suspicious circumstance. The R/P stated that she returned home from a day away to find an open door to her residence. Officers checked the home and the yard and nothing appeared to have been disturbed or suspicious.

1022 07/25 1122 Spindrift 243(E)PC 166(A)(4)PC Officers were dispatched to domestic dispute, when a 19 year-old male subject alleged he was struck by an 18 year-old female subject.  The female alleged she was battered by the male.  Both were arrested on charges of battery, and the female, who had a restraining order against her, was also charged with disobeying a court order.  Both were transported to SM County Jail.  Female Age 18 Of San Mateo Church, Male Age 19 Of HMB

1023 07/25 1644 Francis State Beach 10-99O Officers were dispatched to provide mutual aid at the State Beach on the report of a fight.  HMB Officers arrived and detained several subjects. The subjects were identified and released at State Parks’ Officers request.

1035 07/28 1738 San Mateo Rd 10-66 Officer dispatched to a Half Moon Bay store on the report of a suspicious person, who attempted to make an $18,000 purchase using a Discover Card.  The person and an associate left the store when the employee went to obtain permission from the store owner.  Police searched the area for the subjects but did not locate them.   

1036 07/28 1830 San Mateo Rd 10-99I Officers took report of an adult female who pulled the pony tail of a neighbor’s six year-old child.  The woman told police she was only playing.  The woman was admonished about her behavior and she apologized to the child.

1038 07/28 2200 Granelli Ave 10-65 Officer dispatched to report of a missing female adult who made contact with her family by phone, and was later found by Sheriff’s Deputies in San Gregorio. 

1039 07/28-07/29 2100-1000 Winged Foot Rd 594(A)(1)PC Officer contacted by a citizen regarding a vandalism to his vehicle, when he found the side rear view mirror had been damaged by unknown subject(s), while parked across the street from the RP’s residence.  The damage was estimated at $600. 

1041 07/29 2142 Miramontes Pt Rd 11-81 23152(A)VC Traffic collision-minor injury.  Officers responded to a minor injury collision in which the driver of the vehicle appeared to have been drinking and failed field sobriety tests.  The driver reportedly swerved and struck several parked vehicles.  A passenger in his vehicle complained of pain and was transported to SM County Hospital for treatment.  The man was arrested on charges of driving under the influence, and transported to First Chance.  Male Age 68 Of San Jose

1042 07/29 2205 Beach S/O Kelly 242 PC 186.22 Officer dispatched to report of battery that occurred near HMB State Park.  The victims described the suspects as local Sureño gang members, who had already left the scene.  The two male victims told police a group of Hispanic males began striking them without apparent provocation, but one victim was told by his attackers he was hit because he was wearing a red shirt, and was told by the attackers to remove his red shirt, which the victim did.  Police located a group of suspect males underneath the Pilarcitos Bridge, who were throwing bottles at passing traffic.  Witnesses were able to identify two of the males as the attackers.  Both charged with battery and participation in a street gang.  Male Age 28 Of San Mateo, Male Age 22 Of Redwood City

1043 07/30 1100 Redondo Beach 10-65 10-65 located Officers were dispatched to report of a missing person.  The RP said he was walking with his wife and uncle, when he lost sight of his uncle.  The RP and his wife searched the area but could not locate the uncle.  The man was located walking NB on SR1 and was reunited with his family.
