HMB Police blotter: Mar 17 to 22
This week, Half Moon Bay police responded to some cases of drinking at the High School on St. Patrick’s Day, identity theft of an eight-year-old, theft of $450 in cigarettes from the Shell station, a pushing match between two teenaged girls in a store where one of them worked, driving with a suspended license, a 14-year-old truant and a 15-year-old runaway, and the theft of CD’s from an unlocked car. 0393 03/17 0845-0945 HMBHS 777(A)(1) WI Officer on patrol was contacted by a high school employee who reported seeing an open beer container in the back of an illegally parked vehicle. The student associated with the vehicle, was on probation, and his probation officer was advised of the incident. The student was released to school staff.
0394 01/01-03/17 Wave 530.5 PC Officer took report of identity theft. An eight year-old child’s social security number had been used by an unknown person who had opened several credit accounts and defaulted on paying them. The family was given information on prevention of identity theft.
0395 03/17 1330 HMBHS 601 WI Officer dispatched to high school on report of two students under the influence of alcohol. The two male students were suspended from school.
0396 03/17 1538 San Mateo Rd 487(A)PC666PC Officers dispatched to a theft that had just occurred at the Shell gas station. Two males fled the scene, after one of them took cartons of cigarettes without paying. One of the suspects was located in the Stone Pine shopping center and found in possession of 6 cartons of cigarettes stuffed inside his shirt. The suspect told police the driver of the car had nothing to do with the incident and he did not want to get him in any trouble. The cigarettes were valued at approximately $450. The man was charged with grand theft and petty theft with prior convictions, and transported to SM County Jail. Age 29 of Oakland

0398 03/17 2115 San Mateo Rd 242 PC Officer dispatched to report of a battery. The RP, a sixteen year-old female, said an eighteen year-old female known to her, came into her place of work and refused to leave after being told the store was closed. The eighteen year-old suspect reportedly pushed the RP causing her to fall backwards. The suspect’s boyfriend pulled the suspect from the store and they left. The suspect was contacted by police and she told police the other girl pushed her first. Neither party wished to seek criminal prosecution against the other.

0400 03/17-03/181700-0650 Church St 594(A)(1) PC Officer dispatched to the Cunha school grounds on the report of vandalism. Three windows on campus had been broken by unknown suspects.

0403 03/18 2343 Kelly Ave 12500(A) VC Officer on patrol observed a vehicle with inoperable license plate light and performed a traffic stop. The driver was found to be unlicensed and was cited and released on his promise to appear in court. Age 46 ofHMB
0404 03/19 1510 WB Kelly @ Potter 31 VC14601.1(A)VC Officer performed traffic stop on a driver that failed to stop at a stop sign. The driver initially identified himself as another person. It was later determined the driver was driving with a suspended license. He was cited and released on his promise to appear. Age 44 of SF
0405 03/191300-1800 Kelly @ Purissima 664/459 Officer on patrol was flagged down by a citizen who reported unknown suspects had attempted to gain access to his vehicle. Tool marks were located on the driver’s door lock, but no entry was gained to the vehicle.

0425 03/22 1745 N. Cabrillo hwy 10-99I Officer was dispatched to a non-injury collision, and determined that no collision had occurred. A man reported another driver opened the driver’s side door of her parked vehicle and hit the rear quarter panel of his vehicle. The report was taken for information only.
