HMB Police blotter:  March 28 to April 10

We skipped our report of police action last week in an effort to get the Slide coverage out.  There was nothing dramatic in the last two weeks—some drinking at the high school, a dispute over a woman, a scary dog, and some miscellaneous thievery and drunkenness. Click the link for the details.

0510    04/07 1300      SB SR1 @ Kelly  14601.2(A) VC   Officer on patrol observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed and performed traffic stop.  The driver was found to be driving with a suspended license.  He was cited and released on his promise to appear in court.  Age 29 Of Moss Beach

0511    04/04-04/060000-1600    Kelly Ave       594(A)(1)PC     Officer dispatched to report of the vandalism to a tree.  The tree appeared to have been cut deliberately.  The homeowner wished to have the incident documented.

0513    04/07 1447      Mill St 10-99I  Officer dispatched to a HMB bed and breakfast on the report of a guest who failed to pay for services.  The man left the Inn without paying a balance due of $1148.

0514    04/08 0039      HMBHS   664/459 Officer responded to an alarm at the high school and found a window on one building had been broken out.  It didn’t appear that any suspect(s) had made entry into the building through the broken window.

0518    04/09 1254      SR1 @ Miramontes        O/W Misd        Officers were dispatched to report of a subject creating a traffic hazard, by jumping into the roadway in front of vehicles.  The subject was contacted and was found to have a $5000 warrant out of San Mateo County.  She was arrested and transported to SM county Jail.     Of Moss Beach

1519    04/09 2307      SR1 @ Miramar   125000(A)VC16028(A) VC22350 VC  Officer on patrol performed traffic stop on vehicle traveling at high rate of speed, and found the diver to be unlicensed and with no proof of insurance.  The driver was cited and released on his promise to appear.  Of Moss Beach

0491    04/04 0910      Belleville Blvd 10-99O  Officer was contacted by a HMB citizen regarding an identity theft that occurred out of Arizona.  A courtesy report was taken and will be forwarded to an Arizona detective for follow up of his investigation.

0492    04/040800-0855  HMBHS   601 WI  Officer dispatched to high school regarding a student under the influence of alcohol.  The girl admitted to drinking alcohol until 2AM the night before.  She was suspended by school administrators for the incident.

0496    04/04 2138      Main St 245( C)415 DV594(A)(3) PC       Officers responded to a medical assist call and learned a man reportedly attempted to stab another man with a knife in a dispute over the suspect’s girlfriend.  The suspect reportedly kicked in a front door of a residence to confront a man he believed was having a relationship with his girlfriend.  The victim denied knowing the female or having a relationship her, but knew she lived nearby.  The victim received a minor injury to his finger, and no other injuries.  The female was contacted and told police she was having a drink with a male friend when the suspect, her ex-boyfriend, apparently saw her with her male friend through her window.  The woman told police her friend fled the house when the ex-boyfriend attempted to enter.  The suspect apparently mistook the victim as the man that fled the residence.  The suspect was placed under citizen’s arrest and transported to SM County Jail.      Age 35 Of Pacifica

0486    03/24 1312      Terrace Ave     10-91   Officers were contacted by a citizen who wished to report an incident where she was knocked down to the ground by an unleashed dog.  The citizen wanted the incident documented.  The case will be forwarded to PHS for their review.

0487    04/03 1115      Alameda Ave     10-99I  Officer dispatched to civil dispute between the RP and a man out of Menlo Park whom she placed her vehicle on consignment sale with.  The RP last spoke to the man on 03/31/06, but on 04/03/06 found his phone number was disconnected. The woman was instructed to go to the location where her vehicle was stored and verify it was still there.

0490    04/03 1617      HM BPD  10-99O  Officers received a report from a hospital regarding an assault that took place at an unknown location in either HMB or El Granada.  Police are attempting to locate the victim, who resides in Palo Alto, to obtain his statement regarding the assault.

0470    08/01/05-03/18/06       Main St 242 PC  Officer took report of possible sexual harassment at a workplace.  The female RP, who didn’t wish to seek criminal prosecution, requested the incident be documented and that the male party be contacted by police regarding his involvement.

0471    03/31 1245      Main St 10-415  Officers were dispatched to a HMB business regarding a disturbance caused by an angry client.  The client was contacted by police and advised not to return to the business.

0472    03/31 1200-1245 HMBHS   647(F) PC777(A)(1) WI   Officer was dispatched to the high school on the report of a student under the influence of alcohol.  The student admitted to drinking, but refused to identify where he got the alcohol.  He was arrested for public intoxication and probation violation and released to school staff and a parent.    Age 16 Of HMB

0476    03/01-04/01     Amesport Landing        487(A)PC        Officer dispatched to the report of the theft of a bicycle from a garage.  The bike was valued at approximately $421.

0477    04/01 1755      Kelly Ave       10-99I  Officer dispatched to report of an eight year-old child who told her father she saw a man with a gun.  Officers located a man matching the girl’s description and searched the man and his vehicle, but found no weapons.

0478    04/01 1300-1330 Main St 490.5(A)PC      Officer dispatched to report of shoplifting at a Main St business.  Unknown suspects took two necklaces from an unsecured display, valued at a total of $189.

0479    04/01 1942      Kelly @ Main    647(F)PC        Officer dispatched to report of a person possibly under the influence of alcohol on a transit bus.  The man was contacted and found to be too intoxicated to care for himself.  He was arrested and transported to First Chance.         Age 22 Of El Granada

Cabrillo Hwy 594(A)(1) PC    Officer dispatched to report of vandalism, when a 19 year-old male punched a hole in the wall of a friend’s parents’ house, after getting into an argument with his friend.  The suspect was contacted and said he would repair the wall or pay for the damage.

0485    04/02 2222      SR1 N/O Kelly   23152(A)VC23152(b)VC11-8212500(A)VC16028(A)VC   Officers located a vehicle that ran off the roadway and was stuck in the mud in a drainage ditch.  The driver was determined to be under the influence of alcohol and to be unlicensed and uninsured.  He was arrested and transported to First Chance. 0450    03/281700-1800  HMBHS   10-99I  Officer dispatched to the high school on the report of damaged windows.  A school employee told police he believed the broken windows were caused by thrown softballs that got away from the players.  The report was taken for insurance purposes.

0453    03/27 1400-1500 HMBHS   487(A) PC       Officer took report of grand theft at the high school when a student reported an iPod was taken from her purse.  Officers learned the iPod had been taken by a 14 year-old male student who was arrested and released to his parents.  The case will be forwarded to the DA for prosecution.     Age 14Of HMB
