HMB Rotary accepting 2006 grant applications

The Rotary Club of Half Moon Bay has announced its 2006 Community Grant Program.  The program funds individuals, causes and organizations that benefit the needs of Coastside residents. Grants are awarded annually to people on the Coastside from Pescadero to Montara.

The Half Moon Bay Rotary Foundation makes the grants available using proceeds from events that include Rotary at the Ritz provide revenue for the grants. Typically, the Rotary awards around $15,000 each year through the Community Grant Program.  The average size grant is close to $1,000.

Grant funds are for one-time special projects or specific needs and may not be used for on-going costs, salaries or consultants. Priority is given to applications for causes such as youth development and education, health and well-being of residents, projects beneficial to low income/minority residents and projects beneficial to senior residents.  Grants are not available for political causes or organizations.

Groups and individuals interested in applying must submit a request on their letterhead.  Applicants should describe the specific need for the grant, including who will be served and how it benefits the Coastside. Budget/cost estimates for the project should be included.  Applications should be limited to three pages. Contact Charles Nelson at [email protected] or call 650-726-6559 with questions.
