Jackie Speier will “shop till she drops”  in HMB Tuesday

State Senator Jackie Speier will be on the Coastside Tuesday, May 9 from 9am to 10:30am, to dine and "shop til she drops", according to her office.  The visit is designed to show the media that the Coastside is still open for business.  According to the Senator Speier’s office, she will be shopping with such local notables as Half Moon Bay Mayor Marina Frasier, Half Moon Bay Review Publisher Debra Godshall, and Charise McHugh, President and CEO of Half Moon Bay Chamber of Commerce.

So far, no one has volunteered to "commute till they drop".

Um… 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m?

I’m glad the Senator’s coming, but maybe next time she can be here when the shops are actually open!

Now if I could only limit my wife’s shopping to a 90 minute period, life would be good….

While she shops till she drops, I’ll be driving till I’ll fall asleep - hard to stay awake while crawling in traffic.  Maybe she can do some basic shopping for me like dry cleaning and pet supplies as I can’t always get back to the coast before the 7pm closing times.  Oh but I still love it here!

I hope it’s not just Half Moon Bay shopping as we have many more businesses in Moss Beach, Montara, and El Granada that would love to have the exposure and dollars.

Take a tour lady! Come down to Montara and buy something from Montara Army and Navy Store, the poor guy is dying on his feet from lack of business. Grab a coffee at Cafe Lucca, buy some wonderful organic veggies from SweetPea, then grab a pizza from Fog City to eat while you sit in the gridlock to get back over the hill.

Enjoy your visit Senator we are pleased to have you, use the opportunity to listen to your voters carefully.

Good luck though, because you won’t get very far in 90 minutes on the Coast at the moment. :0)
