About La Honda Faire & Music Festival The Faire began in 1989 when a group of local business people wanted to revive a local event from the 1960’s called "La Honda Days." In 1999 the event became a fundraiser for the La Honda Elementary School.  Donations since 1999 have exceeded $8,000.

About La Honda Educational Foundation The La Honda Educational Foundation (LHEF) was founded in 1991 by a group of parents who wanted to provide more services to La Honda Elementary School than state funding would allow. During the 2004-2005 school year, LHEF gave $60,000 to the district; most of this money was used to fund a teacher at La Honda Elementary, so children could have small class sizes in spite of the state budget cuts and fiscal crisis felt by all schools. LHEF also funds the music program and the adopt-a-watershed project. LHEF meets the second Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. in the library at La Honda Elementary School.  LHEF is a 501(c)3, all-volunteer organization.  All the money raised goes directly to the schools.
