Coastside residents are invited to join a lively evening of Latin music, dining, dancing and auctions for charity on Saturday, April 21st, 6 p.m. at Mullins Bar and Grill at 2 Miramontes Point Road. All profits from the event will go to Coastside charities and scholarships for local high school students.

The evening, “A Night in Rio,” celebrates the music and gaiety of the Rio Carnival. Tickets of $85 per person include a welcome drink at a pre-dinner reception and dinner with wine.

Buy tickets using PayPal at www.coastsidewomensclub.org, or by calling Gail at (650) 726 - 5646. Seating is limited, so buy tickets early.

For entertainment, Bill and Andrea Cook will demonstrate a variety of Latin dances. As Latin rhythms play throughout the night, there will be an opportunity to dance to the energetic beat of the salsa, cha-cha, or rumba. Those who prefer to take it easy can box step to the slower, romantic bosa nova, or simply rest as contented spectators.

The Coastside Women’s Club has organized the event. Sue Perls, President of the club, explains, “Wear masks, vibrant colors, feathers, or whatever you want. A fun night is guaranteed.”

Event organizer Virginia Perry invites local businesses to “reserve an entire table for associates and employees.” She adds, “Neighbors can join together to reserve a table.”

Partygoers will be able to bid silently on auction items donated from local businesses, include restaurant meals, spa treatments, and other pleasurable indulgences. After dinner, a short “live” auction will offer special items such as golf outings. All proceeds go to charities and scholarships. No funds will go to “administration.”

Businesses may donate to the cause by offering gift certificates for goods and services. The club is a 501c (3) non-profit organization and all donations are tax-deductible.

You may also donate by writing a check to “CWC,” noting it as a “Donation” and mailing it to CWC, PO Box 3242, Half Moon Bay, CA 94019.

The Coastside Women’s Club is open to all women on the Coastside. In their 25th year of meetings and activities, the club has numerous subgroups such as the book group, the gourmet group, bridge, golf, Mah Jongg, and other special interests. Information about joining the club can be found at www.coastsidewomensclub.org.
