Please find attached the agenda for the regular MCC meeting next Wednesday, March 28, 2012 from 7:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Please note: Due to flu outbreak at Seton Coastside meeting is moved to:
Granada Sanitary District Meeting Room
504 Ave. Alhambra, 3rd Floor, El Granada

The primary reason for Supervisor Horsley and Building and Building Deputy Director Steve Monowitz attendance is to inform Midcoast residents on the ABAG request to designate the Midcoast a Priority Development Area “Rural Corridor” place type. If time permits, we hope to cover the rest of the items.

The Council will be discussing and may take action on the following Regular Agenda Items:

a.  “Rural Corridor” and PDA Presentation – Horsley/Monowitz (8:00) (45 minutes) Presentation on the County’s ABAG request to designate the Midcoast a Priority Development Area “Rural Corridor” place type. Discussion on the implications and impact on the community by this request and define the next steps. Also address the process surrounding the County’s action and its lack of community input before the fact.
Desired Outcome: Informational and agreement on the next steps and improving the process.

b. Hwy 1 Safety & Mobility Study Next Steps – Monowitz (8:45) (15 minutes) Follow up to the Hwy 1 Safety and Mobility Study presentation on 2/29 and community response. Define the process and road map to implementing an action plan.
Desired Outcome: Agreement on the roadmap for refining and implementing an action plan for Hwy 1 in the Midcoast and a commitment from the County on community participation in all the decision process.

c. Princeton Shoreline Erosion – Ketcham (9:15) (15 minutes)  Presentation on conditions along the Princeton shoreline and studies done to date, leading to the question of what should be done and who will take on lead agency responsibilities.
Desired Outcome: Informational and preliminary discussion with County Supervisor and staff.

d. Final Approval of MCC Letter to County on Hwy 1 Study - (9:00) (15 minutes) Council will decide on the final draft of the community’s comments to be sent to the County on the Hwy 1 Safety & Mobility Study Phase II.
Desired Outcome: Vote to send letter forward to the County
