Montara/Moss Beach free help for landowners

The San Mateo County Resource Conservation District is providing free assistance to landowners in the watersheds that drain into the Fitzgerald Area of Special Biological Significance (most of Montara and Moss Beach) and has grant funds to pay for some private property improvements.

Improvements such as: planting natives, harvesting rainwater, addressing drainage problem areas, landscaping so that rainwater runoff is filtered before leaving the property, picking up after pets (even in backyards!), placing horse manure in specially-designed compost bunkers, and limiting the use of pesticides can improve water quality in the Fitzgerald ASBS.

If you live in the eligible area and are interested in talking with the RCD about potential projects and use of grant funds for your property, please contact Irina Kogan by email: [email protected] or phone 650-712-7765 x107.
