For a limited time this season you can take advantage of a rare opportunity to obtain great gifts for reasonable prices from award-winning Bay Area artists. The Art Guild of Pacifica presents the 2010 Pacifica Open Walls/Open Studios exhibition and art gallery sale, open to the public for only two weekends in December. Make the Sanchez Art Center in Pacifica a holiday shopping stop, and enjoy the ambiance of an art show and the opportunity to select from gorgeous works in all media, including oils, acrylic, photography, jewelry, mosaic, and sculpture, in three different galleries.

There are over 50 participating artists from throughout California offering their original work, as well as prints and many other choices, including postcards. The show will start with an opening reception on Friday, December 3, from 7 to 9 pm. The reception offers a respite from traditional holiday shopping with crowded parking and long lines. Here you can enjoy your favorite beverage and finger food while browsing the gifts and art selections in a gallery setting. You can meet many of the artists and discover the perfect gift that cannot be found in the stores and malls.

Following the Friday reception, the show dates and times are: Saturday and Sunday, December 4 and 5 from 11 am to 5 pm, and Saturday and Sunday, December 11 and 12 from 11 am to 5 pm. The Sanchez Art Center at 1220 Linda Mar Blvd. is just one mile from beautiful Highway 1 on the coast in Pacifica, just south of San Francisco and just north of Half Moon Bay. Additional information and links to artists’ websites and sample works can be reviewed at www.pacificaopenstudios.com. Don’t miss this great opportunity to combine holiday shopping with a festive holiday event, and obtain one-of-a-kind works at affordable prices just in time for the holidays.
