Thanks to the generous support of local businesses, this year’s Pacific Coast Dream Machines Show, April 28-29 at Half Moon Bay Airport, will feature a slew of leading-edge technologies for the convenience and benefit of event attendees. The list of technological advancements available at this year’s show include free Wi-Fi, accepting credit card payments at admission gates using the Square card reader, and a new, free Dream Machines mobile app.

Alifano Technologies is providing the Dream Machines Show with hardware, including smartphones and Square, the increasingly popular smartphone app that allows merchants to wirelessly process credit card payments. Alifano Technologies will provide pre-event training to show event staff how to use Square and also be on-site to make sure the credit card processing runs smoothly. With this technology, Dream Machines patrons will be able to pay quickly and easily.

“This event is a critical fund-raiser for the Coastside Adult Day Health Center and other local non-profits,” said Mike Alifano, of Alifano Technologies. “We’re a small, close-knit community and we simply want to do what we can to help out. Donating knowledge, know-how, and equipment to help an organization is the best way to give back.”

A major problem big events often suffer from is overloaded, unreliable cellular service and internet access. To prevent this from happening, local internet service provider Coastside.Net will provide fast, free internet access via Wi-Fi so patrons are able to make cellphone calls, text, check and send emails, and browse the web while at the event.

“Dream Machines is a signature event for our community,” said Rob Genovesi, Operations & Systems Administrator for Coastside.Net. “We’re pleased to support it by donating our time, resources and technical expertise. We put a high value in helping organizations in our local community and want to see everyone succeed.”

Another exciting technological advancement is the new, free Dream Machines mobile app. Currently being developed by Half Moon Bay’s Phondini Partners, the app is designed to enhance the event experience for users by providing everything from a fact sheet with key details, information on special attractions, a detailed site map, event and entertainment schedules, door-to-door directions, push messaging alerts, Facebook and Twitter integration, and visitor information via Phondini’s iCoastside app. The app will be available for Apple and Android devices.

“We’re excited about the opportunity to work with the Dream Machines Show,” said Joe Falcone, Chief Technology Officer for Phondini Partners. “Living here on the coastside, we feel it’s important to support the many, fine community service groups here.”
