Pacifica Gardens Second Annual Local Native Plant Sale: Sunday, November 15, 2009, 12pm-4pm
Linda Mar School, 830 Rosita Road, Pacifica, CA.

Pacifica Gardens and Go Native are collaborating in a special benefit sale of native plants at Pacifica Gardens.  Over a thousand native plants will be available to help local gardeners diversify their gardens. The sale will feature plants that are native to Pacifica and San Francisco including Islais cherry trees (Prunus ilicifolia), California wild rose (Rosa Californica), phacelia (Phacelia californica), coastal buckwheat (Eriogonum latifolium), and flowering currant (Ribes sanguineum) to name a few.
Proceeds go directly to Pacifica Gardens, a local nonprofit that is transforming an old soccer field into a 30, 000 square foot mini-agricultural project to educate the local community about growing their own food. The project features biointensive food gardens, a permacultural food forest, native plants, culinary and medicinal herbs, a fruit tree mini-orchard, and large-scale composting.
Go Native is a local habitat restoration company that began as a native plant nursery and has expanded to specialize in plant propagation, erosion control, project construction and long-term maintenance. The company’s projects include Frenchman’s Creek in Half Moon Bay, San Pedro Creek and Pacifica State Beach in Pacifica, Año Nuevo Island, and GGNRA and POST lands.
